Sammy the Squirrel

Sammy the squirrel is getting quite the work out these days.

Grandma and Grandpa Wine Visit

G-ma and G-pa Wine came to visit us during their spring break.  It was the first time my dad had been out to see us since we moved, so we had lots to show him!

The first few days were spent relaxing around the house and cuddling with Jackson.

 Basking in the sun.

Afternoon nap

Time for bed

Watching the bball games

After we were all caught up on sleep and bball we took gma and gpa to some of our favorite restaurants- The Yellow Deli, which is a restaurant that looks like a treehouse and The Beach House, a restaurant that is right on the ocean.

You may notice a pair of crutches in a few of the photos above.  I'm sure most of you are thinking "oh my, what did Shari do to her foot this time?".  BUT- it wasn't me.  Gpa was enjoying the jacuzzi at our house and missed a step and fell into the pool.  He sprung his foot so bad that we had to take him to the ER and get a splint and crutches.  Poor guy was in pain the rest of the visit, but that didn't stop us from driving around and exploring, we just didn't do much walking after that.

We enjoyed the visit gma and gpa!  Can't wait for you guys to come back in the summer!!!

Radio Flyer

My parents came to visit this past week and brought Jackson a radio flyer wagon.  He was in heaven.  My dad had to pull him around in it for about a 1/2 hour because Jackson would get upset when he stopped.  Oliver seemed to enjoy the wagon as well.

Testing out the wagon in our pj's.

Weeeeee (note that I am not hypnotizing Jackson,
that is Baby Einstein on the tv)

 Taking a test drive outside

Chillin'

This is how Jackson prefers to eat these days.

Big Boy

What a week this has been so far and it's only Wednesday!  I couldn't wait to post because so much excitement has taken place.

So far this week Jackson has crawled, got his first tooth and had his first haircut.  What has happened to my little boy?

We had his 9 month check-up on Wednesday and he is 29 inches long and 20 pounds.  He is in the 75th percentile for height and the 27th percentile for weight.  I asked the doc if I needed to feed him more and she said that he is just a tall, skinny boy and there is nothing to worry about.  The doctor also said that since he was so tall that we could move him to a forward facing car seat.  I know that will make Jackson happy, but I probably will keep him rear facing for a few more months.

Showing off my new haircut

Being such a big boy is tiring work

First Haircut

It was finally time to get Jackson's hair cut.  It was to the point where I debated putting a clip in his hair to keep it out of his eyes.

A little part of me didn't want to take this step.  I loved his curls and was afraid he would look so grown up with shorter hair.

We took him to Little Locks salon, which caters to children.  Jackson got to sit in his own jeep while he got his hair cut.  He thought he was pretty cool stuff.  He took hold of the wheel and laughed and laughed.

Once the haircut got started, he was a little freaked out and had a few meltdowns, but quickly gained control once we blew some bubbles his way.

Vroom, Vroom

This is so much fun

On goes the cape

Ok guys, this isn't funny.

What's happening?

Oooooh bubbles!

Almost done

What's with the hair dryer, mom?

Second Child Syndrome

Do you have an older brother or sister?  Have you ever looked through pictures of you as a child and noticed there are very few with you just by yourself?  It was always you AND your older sibling?

Does this sound familiar?  It's called second child syndrome.  And Jackson has it.

Almost every picture we take of Jackson Oliver feels like he should be a part of it.  Unless I put Jackson on his chair for monthly pictures or we are out and about without Oliver, you will more than likely see a portion or all of Oliver in the picture.

Here is a montage through the months of pictures that were meant to just be Jackson.  And may I add that these are just a small selection of the hundreds that I have with Oliver in them.

What's mine is yours

We have officially hit the stage where Oliver and Jackson's toys are becoming fair game to both of them.  I'm not a fan of this stage.

And to make it worse, Jackson likes to take his toys and tease Oliver with them.

Hey Oliver, do you want this toy?

Ha, ha, just kidding. It's mine.

Ok, ok, ok ... do you want the toy, Oliver?

Bwahahaha ... just kidding again.  It's mine.  Give it back.

He works hard for the money

Jackson decided he wanted to help daddy work hard for his money.

See daddy, all you have to do is push this button to finish your report

And to print your report you hit this button

And if that doesn't work, just bang on it like this
